  • I dream of returning to this place to stay! Back in 2010, I spent 1 night at @cabalgatas_3_pasos in what felt like the middle of nowhere in #Patagonia. It was so peaceful, and the landscape and vistas majestic. At the end of my W Circuit #hike, we passed it and made a stop. I met the owner or, should I say "re" met the owner. She said she would have been the one working it back then. We checked the guest book, but apparently, I did not sign it. She says they now have Starlink connection, so perhaps a work remotely site in my future??? They also do horseriding (cabalgatas) and I think that would be amazing in this corner of Earth. #amazingchile

  • Some views of Glacier Grey from the mirador near Refugio Grey at the start of day 2 of the W Circuit. 10 yrs ago I did a great ice hike on this glacier; this ice hike requires a short ride on a zodiac, a walk along the moraine, and then a walk onto the glacier. I skipped it this time, but my buddy did it while I enjoyed this walk to the mirador and R&R at the refugio!

  • With the W Circuit of Torres del Paine now behind me, here is a quick recap of day 1 (which will NOT do it justice!). Strong winds and gray skies were the weather-of-the-day. This day took us from Refugio Paine Grande, where the boat dropped us off as we entered the park, to Refugio Grey by the massive glacier of the same name. 11km and approximately 4 hrs (with stops). Of course, aprés-hike beverages (piscola and Patagonia beer) were in order. As my phone was being used for AllTrails tracking which consumed my old phone's battery quicker, most photos were taken with my buddy's phone, and I don't have them yet. I will post some of those once I get them. There are a lot of amazing views not shown in this set!

  • On an INSANELY burning hot day in Buenos Aires, we opt for a 9mi walk or so all along town: parks near AEP airport, the British Tower and San Martin Park, Caminito, the Cathedral of Buenos Aires, la Casa Rosada (the equivalent of the US White House, but pink!), the Obelisk on the massive 9 de Julio Ave, etc.

I dream of returning to this place to stay!

I skipped it this time, but my buddy did it while I enjoyed this walk to the mirador and R&R at the refugio!

Some views of Glacier Grey from the mirador near Refugio Grey at the start of day 2 of the W Circuit.

With the W Circuit of Torres del Paine now behind me, here is a quick recap of day 1 (which will NOT do it justice!).

On an INSANELY burning hot day in Buenos Aires, we opt for a 9mi walk or so all along town: parks near AEP airport, the British Tower and San Martin Park, Caminito, the Cathedral of Buenos Aires, la Casa Rosada (the equivalent of the US White House, but pink!), the Obelisk on the massive 9 de Julio Ave, etc.
