Recap of my short visit to the Eternal City. Beautiful #sunset over the Forum in #Rome
Delicious osterias everywhere to feed me good Roman dishes. Here at @osteria_zimberto .
And the carbonara I had for lunch there! Fuel for the thousands of steps walked that day.
Always talking when photos are being taken… Here, at Piazza Navona. I highly recommend visiting it at sunset / early evening.
The eternal Pantheon. One gazing piece of ancient #architecture
Great views of St. Peter's Basilica…
Climbing to the top of St. Peter's Basicila is a must if you are able to do the stairs. Great views of Rome! You can take an elevator up to a certain point, but to go from the base of the cupola to the top is a stairs-only affair. A later pic in this sequence will show what that looks lile.
Back to a view of the Forum without me in the way!
Cacio e pepe, another fantastic Roman dish #cuisine #foodie
And don't forget the roasted artichoke swimming in olive oil. #foodieheaven
At the Colosseum. Third time taking the tour. Never gets old (the tour or the Colosseum, for that matter!).
La Pietá in St. Peter's Basilica. #Catholic #sculpture #catholicart
The main altar at St. Peter's is a masterpiece.
The passageway as one goes to the top of the cupola. No, the camera is not tilted. That is the curvature of the dome! #climb #viewpoint
Part of a meal.
The smell of my truffles was hard for Tricia so we both did what we could!
And my favorite activity while in #Italy: gelatoing! Gelato well, and #gelato often is my motto! I may have been carried away this time!
